Why use this tool
Match QR colors to your brand, drop a company logo in the center, pick a corner style that fits your visual.
We use error correction level H — the QR still scans even when blurred, scratched, or covered up to 30% by a logo.
The URL never leaves your browser. No logs, no trackers, no proxy server.
How to use
- 1Paste the URL into the input (https://example.com or any address).
- 2Customize: tweak foreground/background colors, pick a dot style, upload a logo ≤200KB.
- 3Test-scan with your phone — especially after changing colors or adding a logo.
- 4Download PNG for web/social, SVG for large-format print posters and banners.
What is a URL QR code?
A QR (Quick Response) Code is a 2D barcode invented by Denso Wave in 1994, capable of holding up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters in a single square. When you encode a URL, scanning with a phone camera opens that link automatically.
URL QRs are the most common type — about 70% of QRs in use. They're faster than typing a URL, look cleaner than shortened links on a poster, and work on any device (iOS, Android, Windows) without an app.
This tool generates static QR codes: the URL is encoded directly into the pattern. The QR never expires and doesn't depend on a third-party server. Print it on a business card, product packaging, event poster — as long as the URL is alive, the QR works.

Use cases
QR to your portfolio, LinkedIn, Facebook page. Partners scan to land on your site instantly.
Sticker QRs on tables → online menu. No reprinting menus when prices change.
Banner QR → signup landing. Attendees don't have to type long URLs.
QR on a box → user manual, unbox video, warranty policy.
Coupon QR → landing with the code already applied — scan to redeem.
Wedding card QR → Google Maps location, or a personalized invite video.
URL QR — under the hood
QR encodes the URL as a UTF-8 byte sequence. The longer the URL, the denser the pattern — version 1 holds 17 characters, version 40 holds 4,296.
Keep printed QRs scannable by using short URLs (≤80 chars). For long URLs (Google Drive, many query params), consider a URL shortener.
Error correction level H (Reed-Solomon, 30% tolerance) lets the QR still scan when covered or scratched. That's why you can place a large center logo — the obscured data is recovered by Reed-Solomon redundancy.
URL QR FAQ
If my URL has a 301 redirect, does the QR still work?
Yes. The QR contains the original URL — the browser follows the redirect. You can change the redirect target on your server without reprinting the QR.
Should I use HTTPS or HTTP?
Always HTTPS. Some mobile browsers block HTTP links from QR for security. HTTPS is only one extra character, so it doesn't affect QR size.
How do I use the SVG for print?
SVG is vector — open it in Illustrator, Affinity Designer, or free Inkscape, then scale to print size without pixelation.
Should the center logo have a white background or transparent?
White background + sharp logo is easiest to scan; transparent + bold logo is more elegant. Either way, leave a thin white border around the logo to separate it from the QR dots.
Can I change the URL after generating the QR?
Not with static QR — the URL is baked in. For changeable destinations, use Dynamic QR (Phase 2). Or use a URL shortener and edit the redirect target on the shortener side.
