How to use

Beyond URLs
Besides URLs, a QR code can hold many content types the OS recognizes natively: plain text, smsto: commands, mailto: commands. Each has its own scan UX — handy for marketing and customer service.
SMS QR is common for vote/feedback campaigns: poster with a QR → scanner opens Messages → tap Send to vote "YES" to a short code. No need to remember SMS formats.
Email QR is common for support: a QR on a product box opens an email with To: support@..., Subject: Issue with order ABC123, Body: Hi, I'm having trouble... User adds details and hits Send.

Standard SMS / mailto formats
SMS QR uses the smsto:+84912345678:message URI — iOS/Android recognize smsto: and open Messages with phone + body filled in. Older OSes use sms: instead of smsto:.
Mailto QR follows RFC 6068: mailto:[email protected]?subject=...&body=... — subject and body must be URL-encoded (space → %20, newline → %0A). This tool encodes them automatically.
Mind email body length: some old mail clients cap URLs at ~2,000 chars. If your body exceeds ~1,500 chars, switch to a landing page link instead of mailto.

Does SMS QR work for international recipients?
Yes. Encode the phone in international format (+84... for Vietnam). iOS/Android pick the right messaging app automatically.
Can email body include HTML or formatting?
No. mailto: only supports plain text. For HTML email, use a landing page with a form instead of mailto.
Can I encode Unicode (e.g., Vietnamese diacritics)?
Absolutely. QR stores UTF-8, so ă, ơ, ư, ê work fine. Unicode characters take 2–3 bytes (vs 1 for ASCII), so the QR will be denser.
Which mail app opens when scanning?
The OS default: iOS → Mail, Android → Gmail (or Outlook if set as default).
I want a bank-transfer QR (VietQR) — does this tool help?
VietQR is a NAPAS-specific standard — a generic text QR won't work. You need a dedicated VietQR tool. This one covers URL, vCard, WiFi, SMS, email.
